Dog Walking & Pet Sitting F.A.Q.’s
Will I get to meet the person coming to my home?
Absolutely! You are assigned your very own Professional Pet Sitter. Before booking any appointments, your Pet Sitter will come to your home for a FREE 30 minute consultation. This allows you and your pets to get to know your Pet Sitter, and show him/her your pet’s routine.
What kind of experience does my Pet Sitter have?
Your Professional Pet Sitter is an EXPERT when it comes to pets! They have worked for Fetch n’ Catch as a Canine Coach for at least four months, supervising our overnight boarding and daycare facilities which can reach 80 dogs per day! They have also completed Knowing Dogs 101, a four week course on dog behavior, and are certified in Pet First Aid & CPR. In addition, they are fully licensed and insured. Our Professional Pet Sitters pride themselves on being just that- Professionals!
How far in advance should I book services?
We require one week notice for all pet sitting and dog walking appointments. For last minute appointments, an additional charge may apply depending on availability.
Will my pet sitter arrive exactly at my requested appointment time?
Your pet sitter will arrive as close to your requested time as possible. However, please be aware that due to travel time/traffic, unforeseen circumstances at an earlier appointment, etc., your pet sitter has a 1 hour window before and after each appointment. For example- if your requested visit time is 12pm, your visit will be completed between 11am and 1pm. Again, this is due to back-to-back appointments, and the unpredictable nature of travel.
How will I know my visit has been completed? Can I check in?
Your pet sitter will update you via email, text/picture message, or a phone call when the visit is complete. A checklist of tasks that were completed and a summary of the appointment will also be left after each visit. This way, you can have peace of mind while traveling/at work that everything is going smoothly at home.
Should I tip my pet sitter?
If you are 100% satisfied with the service you receive, it is appropriate to tip your pet sitter. Our pet sitters are extremely gracious for any gratuity you choose to give.
If I am away on vacation, can I split my visits between a family member and a Professional Pet Sitter? (i.e. Mother in law visits in the morning, Pet Sitter visits in the evening.)
For insurance reasons, third parties are not permitted to enter your home without prior approval. While you are away, we take the security of your home very seriously. Having third parties enter your home while we are caring for your pets presents liability concerns.
Which towns do you serve?
Currently, we serve parts of Bowmansville, Cheektowaga, Clarence, Depew, Elmwood Village, Kenmore, Lancaster, North Buffalo, West Seneca, & Williamsville . Please call for other availability.
How should I pay for my visits?
You can leave your payment in the form of cash or check (made out to Fetch n’ Catch) for your pet sitter. Alternatively, you may place a credit card on file and we will charge it accordingly.
Is there a minimum number of visits you require?
Yes, we have a minimum number of visits required for different types of animals while you are away. This requirement is only a minimum, and you can add visits as desired. Dogs- 2 visits per day. Cats, small animals, livestock, birds- 1 visit per day. Reptiles, fish- 1 visit every other day.
Does my pet sitter work on holidays?
Of course! Your pet sitter can visit on holidays, with at least 2 weeks notice. A $6 surcharge will apply for each visit on a federal holiday, which will be paid directly to your pet sitter.
